“Never try to out-stubborn a cat.”
― Robert A. Heinlein, Time Enough for Love
Friday is usually my "Dog of the Day" blog post day, mainly because I end up doing more dog paintings than cat paintings BUT every now and then a really interesting little feline friend comes my way...
This is Snickers, she is a Shirazi from the Middle east, her family got her while they were stationed in Abu Dhabi. Shirazi cats are a cross between a Mau and a Persian and from what I can understand make wonderful family pets. Snickers has travelled from the Middle East and now lives in Trinidad, thank goodness for Snickers there is air conditioning in both these spots - I can't quite imagine anything with that much fur lasting long in those climates!
Shirazi cats apparently are very affectionate and love to be petted (unlike our grey tabby who screams and hisses if you come near her) according to one site I stumbled upon they will actually get rather annoyed if you stop petting them, Snickers looks to me like she's thinking "how very dare you stop touching me, pet me now human!!"
