Loulou, gone but never forgotten.......
Earlier this year when I went back to my childhood home Trinidad I stayed with my friend Susie and her little girl Loulou. Susie described Lulu as a cranky old lady but she was absolutely delightful!!
I found the above pics on Susie's Facebook page (I've become quite adept at creeping people's social media sights for reference when the paintings are a surprise gift) these are all of her when she was younger and a bit more active, when I met her she was banned from taking the stairs following a tumble down them, she had lost her hearing and her equilibrium was a bit off but man she was a funny little thing!!!
She used to have this way of "talking" that was hilarious, it wasn't barking, she actually sounded like she was trying to "talk" to you. Susie used to keep a broom stick next to the sofa in her office, I kept tripping over the bloody thing and wondered why this very neat and tidy woman would possibly just leave a broom stick laying on the floor, I soon realized it was because Miss Loulou's favourite game was to roll her toy under the sofa where she would proceed to try to grumble, scratch and talk it out, the stick was the only way to get it back. As soon as it came out, she'd shove it back under, and so it went on, little miss was in FULL command of us all!!
Sadly Loulou passed away a few weeks ago, she was small in stature but massive in personality, I know she will be greatly missed. RIP little one...
