Seventeen days and counting.........
So here I am seventeen short days away from the opening ofThe Royal Winter Agricultural Fair and I'm freaking out a bit. Being an artist one has to balance making a living with making art, hopefully they eventually become one and the same but so far that hasn't happened so I've been juggling a part time job with my decorative painting and my fine art pursuits - and I'm not going to lie to you, it's bloody difficult at times!!!
These are a few of the paintings I've completed so far. The horse was the first of this batch and she sold already (which is AMAZING and I'm so excited that she has) she was a large piece and is going to a little girl who adores horses so that makes me feel really good, now I just have to make the time to replace her with another large piece..
"Time", we all have the same number of hours in the day, some days seem to fly by and others drag on as though they will never end. I'm one of those dreadful people who is always late, I never seem to have enough "time" to get things done and always seem to be rushing - of course I have the same amount of "time" as the next guy, I just fail to prioritize efficiently.
I've decided somethings gotta give, I can't stop painting, that would be like stopping breathing, the decorative art side of things feeds my creativity and I take things I learn from working on walls and furniture to the canvas (or wood board as it were) so I've decided that my part time job must come to an end. It may mean having to cut back here and there but I am so looking forward to spending more consistent time in my studio and not just binge painting leading up to a show. This show however will be one of those where I will be in my studio madly painting away for over the next few weeks adding to the herd here, I'll update you all with my progress as I go..
